  • Nvidia has responded to gaming performance issues caused by the Windows 11 22H2 update reported last week. The company has confirmed that their Nvidia GeForce Experience software is causing the problems, but updating to the latest beta should fix them.

Microsoft began rolling out Windows 11 2022 Update, also known as Update 22H2, to more than 190 countries last week, introducing several upgrades and new features to its latest operating system. But there are also some unwanted additions.

As usual with updates, Windows 11 22H2 caused system issues for some users, including the blue screen of death during installation. There was also a flurry of reports from people who installed 22H2 claiming that the update caused in-game framerates to be altered – one said the slowdown was so severe that their game was unplayable. . We also heard that G-Sync and game audio were affected.

The 22H2 game performance issues only appear on PCs with Nvidia GPUs. Now, the green team has confirmed that the Nvidia GeForce Experience app is the cause, although it has never been detailed.

Another way to update apps is from GeForce Experience itself. This can be done by going to the Settings section and selecting “Enable experimental features”. Nvidia recommends that you close the program, wait 30 seconds, then reboot, which will automatically update the application to the latest version.

Nvidia writes that the solution, aside from uninstalling the 22H2 update, is to upgrade GeForce Experience to the latest v3.26. There are two ways to do this: manually download the v.3.26 installer, which you can do using this executable, and install the software.

Nvidia writes that a non-beta version of GeForce Experience 3.26 will launch this week. It adds ShadowPlay HDR 8K 60FPS recording to upcoming RTX 4000 cards, optimized settings for 51 games, and other fixes.

Windows 11 22H2 adds an updated Start menu, better search, and an improved File Explorer. Microsoft is also adding game-focused and enhanced security tools.
