At their recent N7 Day celebrations, BioWare appeared to clarify two crucial details regarding the upcoming Mass Effect game. In the interim, it was known as Mass Effect 4, and Mass Effect 5 by some. Hardcore fans of the sci-fi RPG series aren’t the only ones who ignore this detail, which has a double edge. Not in his actual N7 Day teaser, but in later concept art, are hidden details included. And this piece of concept art appears to bear the logo for “Solar Electronics”.
For those of you who don’t know, Solar Electronics is the store players can visit in his first three games, the original trilogy of his. Why is this worth noting? Well, because it teaches us a few things. For one thing, if solar electronics still exists, the game shouldn’t be too far off. And more importantly, they have the same design. In other words, the next game isn’t even far enough in the future to see a logo redesign.
If this rumor is true, the upcoming Mass Effect game will be set entirely or in part in the Milky Way and will take place immediately after the events of the trilogy. But that’s it for now. BioWare has not addressed this rumor as of the time of publication. For a variety of reasons, it’s unlikely that this will change, but if it does, we’ll update the story.
