It also mentions that some iOS 16 features will be further restricted to newer models such as the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series. Features available on all the phones listed above include Live Text in Photos, Video that works in Quick Look, Safari, and other apps.
iOS 16 launches tonight for iPhone 8 and up, but it looks like not all the features that the latest version of iOS has to offer are available on all supported iPhone models. Some iOS 16 features will reportedly be available on iPhone XS and later with the Apple A12 Bionic chip and later. The exact reason for this is unknown, but it’s very likely that some features require more processing power than the A11 Bionic chip offers. 9to5Mac reports that some iOS 16 features are only available on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone SE (2020), iPhone SE (2022), iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 12 Pro.
