Realme C17 is reportedly headed to India. The C17 is at the top of the company’s C-series that launched in Bangladesh a few weeks ago. The C17 is a major upgrade over the C15 because it brings a 90Hz display to the series, along with a Qualcomm processor. The entire C-series range has been updated this year with MediaTek processors, although the company may plan to bring Qualcomm Edition for these smartphones to India. Either way, the C17 comes with that processor out of the box.
The development was reported by whistleblower Mukul Sharma on Twitter. According to him, the Realme C17 could be launched in India after Diwali, in late November or early December. However, an exact chronology is unclear. Realme may have plans to launch more smartphones at that time, including the Qualcomm Edition of the C15, C12 and C11. But for now nothing is set in stone.
Realme C17 was launched in Bangladesh for a price tag of BDT 15,990, which is around Rs 13,900 in India. It seems reasonable that Realme launches the C17 for this price in India as the C15 costs Rs 9,999 for the base variant. Realme has yet to confirm this development.
For its specs, the Realme C17 features a 6.5-inch 720p display with 90Hz refresh rate. High refresh rate is becoming more and more important on smartphones, and Realme is making sure it reaches the masses with its budget phones. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card up to 256GB. The smartphone runs the Realme user interface based on Android 10.
For photography, the Realme C17 carries a 13 megapixel main camera along with an 8 megapixel ultrawide camera, a 2 megapixel black and white camera and a 2 megapixel macro camera. There is also an LED flash to assist these cameras in low light conditions, along with the Super Nightscape mode. For selfies, you have an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The Realme C17 has a fingerprint sensor on the back. The smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery that charges up to 18W. You get a USB-C port on the device along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
