For Ubisoft fans, a new Steam leak is great

  • Fans of Ubisoft games may be quite happy about a recent leak related to Valve’s Steam platform on PC. Through its Ubisoft Connect network, Ubisoft has exclusively made its own games available on PC for a considerable amount of time. Additionally, despite repeated requests from fans, Ubisoft has resisted adding many of its more recent games to Steam. Fortunately, it appears that this may be changing in the near future.

A new list of upcoming games recently appeared on SteamDB, the website that tracks Steam’s backend features. The name of the game in question has not been released, but a closer look at the title’s metadata suggests it may be the name of Roller Champions. For those who don’t know, Roller Champions is a free multiplayer sports game from Ubisoft. Basically, the list suggests that Roller Champions will eventually come to Steam, which Ubisoft has yet to confirm.

the main reason this leak is significant is that it suggests that Ubisoft may be considering making a significant comeback to Steam. If it’s a game for the platform, Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla might both be included. It would be wise to approach the current situation cautiously for the time being. Roller Champions’ arrival on Steam has not only not been confirmed by Ubisoft, but even if it had, that doesn’t necessarily mean that many of the publisher’s other games would follow Roller Champions to the Valve Marketplace. No. Even said, there is more than enough information in this leak to hint at future plans for Ubisoft.
