Our list of the greatest gaming laptops under $1,000 includes the HP Victus 15 because of its low price and ability to be upgraded with more potent hardware.
The base model we evaluated cost just $479.99 at Best Buy, which was the lowest price. For these specifications, this pricing is outstanding.
For older games, this model’s Intel Core i5-1450H and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 are sufficient, but newer games might need lower settings. At this price point, 8GB of RAM is expected (you may need to upgrade later), but 512GB is never included, so I’m glad to see it here.
“Despite having an older GTX 1650 GPU, it can handle most modern titles in 1080p on high or medium settings, though you may need to turn it down in some cases,” writes the review.
In general, it’s extremely rare to find a gaming laptop under $500. It’s hard to find a laptop with discrete graphics in this price range. That’s what makes this deal amazing. Granted, it’s not the newest or greatest, but at this price, you might not mind playing the game on Medium instead of Ultra.
In our testing, we liked the price and performance (including productivity performance). However, it requires uninstalling some bloatware. This configuration features a 1080p, 144Hz display and a low-profile design whether you’re having a gaming session at home or working on the go.
