Shioli Kutsuna of Deadpool 2 fame has joined the cast of Kojima Productions’ future, unnamed project as the next famous cast member.
Shioli Kutsuna’s face is displayed beneath the words “WHERE AM I? “, in a teaser poster style reminiscent of the one that first revealed Elle Fanning as a character in the upcoming film. A new teaser poster is placed next to her face, but instead of showing the silhouette of a face, it just shows a darkened image with the words “HOW COME?”
Kojima is used to receiving information drips that are obscure. The publication of the horror demo known as P.T., or playable teaser, which contained a challenging set of puzzles and finally disclosed a covert message—that Kojima was developing a Silent Hill game—may be one of the most renowned pre-reveals in history (which was, unfortunately, cancelled.)
However, Kojima has previously issued ambiguous announcements for his releases. In order to conceal the unexpected revelation of a new Metal Gear game, Kojima built a false game studio before the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, replete with a fake interview.
Whether this new project is a sequel to Death Stranding is unknown, but we do know that Kojima is developing it and that Norman Reedus misspoke in May when he claimed to be already working on “Part 2.”
Kojima has high expectations for this new project, which he describes as revolutionary, in an interview with The Guardian. “If it is successful, not only will the video game business be revived, but also the film industry. Even though experiments can be fruitful, there is still a long way to go before they are widely used.
One of the companies Embracer recently acquired, Studio Onoma, has already shuttered its doors. Hitman GO and the now-defunct Avatar were created by the former Square he Onoma of Enix Montreal.
