Wipro CEO seeks business tips from tech-savvy junior employees

Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte is reaching out to junior employees for suggestions, primarily in the digital area, as the software company increases its focus on digital deals. Delaporte is reportedly seeking suggestions from junior, digital native employees to revive Wipro’s growth.

Last week Delaporte wrote to junior employees, mostly digital natives, for suggestions and input. Wipro, which is a Bengaluru-based software company, focuses on digital deals driven by increased customer spending on technology to minimize disruption to their business.

“This shows a sign of change as Delaporte wants to get the pulse on all levels,” a Wipro executive told ET. Delaporte’s interactions cover small groups and the larger organization in which he shares his observations and thoughts as well as understanding their aspirations and expectations, a spokesperson for Wipro told the publication.

“Delaporte also took these opportunities to thank employees for their exceptional determination and resilience in ensuring uninterrupted business continuity and maintaining high standards of service to our customers in these difficult times,” the spokesperson said.

Delaporte took over as CEO of Wipro in July. When he took over, he wrote to his employees saying he planned to spend time with senior executives and unit and function teams to have a holistic view and understand the opportunities and challenges for the company. The move shows that Wipro is more inclusive as organizations typically turn to senior employees for inputs.

According to analysts, Delaporte seeking suggestions from employees of all levels could mean he wants to hear from employees directly. The CEO will continue to have similar conversations frequently with colleagues at all levels around the world, as well as for the company.

According to a report, Wipro’s CEO is seeking input and suggestions from tech-savvy junior employees to revive Wipro’s growth.
