“The course is taught online in three weeks,” said instructor Stephen LaRochelle. “Students learn how to operate and troubleshoot their printer, they learn about free software options, and they are introduced to 3D modeling and design. It is structured for educators to take back to their classrooms to increase exposure in STEAM education and to engage learners in emerging technology and additive manufacturing.”
Registration for Kennebec Valley Community College’s 3D Printing Series, which includes a free Apple iPad, Apple Pencil, and Flashforge 3D printer, is now open. The course, which is popular among schools, libraries, and community organisations, starts on July 9. It gives three CEUs and introduces students to user-friendly 3D software and design. Members of the Maine Workforce Development Compact are eligible for free training.
