WhatsApp to get a number of interesting features. The messaging app is reportedly working on a new feature that would allow users to join missed calls. In addition to this, WhatsApp is also working on a feature that would protect chats with a fingerprint.
As with Wabetainfo, WhatsApp will make it easier for you to join a call if you have missed it and if the call is still active. “WhatsApp has been working for a few months on a new feature that allows us to quickly join calls in a given situation. In particular, if someone among your contacts invites you to join a group call and you are unable to join at that time, you will be able to join the next time you open WhatsApp if the call has not been closed “, the Wabetainfo report read.
Another feature that WhatsApp is working on is a biometric lock. The feature as the name suggests protects that chat with a fingerprint. “WhatsApp is working on new improvements for Fingerprint Lock, the feature that allows you to protect WhatsApp with your fingerprint. If your Android device doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor but does have a facial recognition system, you obviously can’t use Fingerprint Lock, but WhatsApp is finally working on improving it with new features, the report reads.
So, if your Android device doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor but a face unlock system, WhatsApp will only support the feature if the device has a suitable facial recognition system. The Facebook-owned messaging app is also rolling out new identifiers if the face and fingerprint unlock fails.
In the screenshots shared by Wabetainfo, users can choose when they want WhatsApp to automatically block the app. Both features are currently in development and have been identified in the latest Android beta update.
Previously, it was reported that work is being done to make voice and video calls possible on the web version of the app. As with Wabetainfo, the WhatsApp Web will soon receive a voice and video call function. The feature is currently under development and will be rolled out later in the future. “We have already announced that WhatsApp was working on calls. Today we are happy to announce new details, provided by the WhatsApp Web Update 2.2043.7! WhatsApp is evaluating the idea of offering voice and video calls in the coming weeks, although development is in beta stage, “says the Wabetainfo report read.
