WhatsApp rolls out new button to make shopping easier on the app

After unveiling a number of new features, WhatsApp is now rolling out a new shopping button to make it easier for users to do business on the app. The messaging app recently announced that it will charge businesses for some of the app’s services. Now the shopping button is active, the button will allow people to add items to a cart, make payments and check out within WhatsApp.

“We are launching a new shopping button on WhatsApp to make it easier for people to discover a company’s catalog so they know what goods or services it offers. Previously, people had to click on the company’s profile to see if the company had a catalog. Now when a person sees the shopping button, which looks like a store icon, they will immediately know that the company has a catalog so they can browse the products and start a conversation about an article that sees with one tap. This will make it easier for businesses to discover their products, which can help increase sales, “WhatsApp said in a statement.

The new purchase button has been rolled out globally and will replace the voice call button. To find the voice call button, users can tap the call button to select a voice call or video call.

The purchase button will allow users to browse products in corporate accounts. They can select products, add them to their cart and check out from the app. This new feature will allow shopping from WhatsApp and you shouldn’t even leave the app for that. To explore the products, users can initiate a conversation with a corporate account, browse the catalog, and make payments.

The shopping button will be placed next to the contact information in the top banner. Just tap the button to browse a corporate account catalog.

WhatsApp has been in a rollout phase and has recently unveiled some features. The messaging app has implemented Always Mute, Disappearing Messages, and WhatsApp Pay features. Always mute feature would allow users to mute annoying groups forever. Disappearing messages, on the other hand, would allow senders to automatically delete their message after seven days, and WhatsApp Pay would allow payments via the messaging app. All features have been released in India and will be coming to users by the end of this month.
