Vivo X80 Lite and Pro Plus are expected to be released soon, possibly even worldwide

The tipsters note that this alleged hint of the phone’s existence is not accompanied by spec or launch information as yet. Nevertheless, it is speculated that, thanks to the connectivity hint, this “X80 Lite” might stand to become Vivo’s first-gen excuse to use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. That might put it into a ~US$400 category should it truly debut soon. The X80 Pro+, on the other hand, might go for far more thanks to its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform, potentially improved Zeiss-tuned rear cameras and X80 Pro specs otherwise.

Vivo’s X80 premium mid-range Android smartphone series is believed to be getting a Lite version. Its specifications are currently unclear, but it might be a solid enough cause for the OEM to upgrade from the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. The X80’s top-end Pro Plus variant, on the other hand, is now expected to be available globally in late 2022. Vivo’s high-end X80 ‘camera-first’ series has already made inroads outside of China; now, with a more cheap edition, the line is anticipated to gain even more traction. This new allegation is based on lines of code pointing to a V2208, or X80 Lite 5G, which was leaked by @passionategeekz in collaboration with RootMyGalaxy.

  • This putative flagship has popped up on the rumor mill again, with an alleged October 2022 launch window – and internationally, too. Should this be the case, and given its specs, it could act as Vivo’s top-end smartphone worldwide for the year, consigning the X Note and X Fold to China-only status for good.
