After weeks of leaks and teasers, Vivo has finally moved on and launched its latest smartphone, the V20 in India. The phone has been heralded as the company’s new bet for the mid-range market segment that brings with it some truly impressive hardware.

Launched in a virtual event, the Vivo V20 is powered by a mid-range chipset, the Snapdragon 720G. It is also equipped with a triple rear camera with 64 megapixel main lens. The phone also puts a lot of focus on the selfie camera as it carries a 44 megapixel lens in the front.

Vivo V20: price and availability

The Vivo V20 was launched in India at a price close to what was suggested last week. In line with rumors that the device could launch below the Rs 30,000 mark, the company today launched the Vivo V20 at a starting price of Rs 24,990 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB variant.

The phone is also available in another variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB priced at Rs 27,990. The Vivo V20 is currently available for advance booking and will go on sale from 20 October.

Vivo V20: specifications

With the Vivo V20, the phone maker has managed to pack a lot of impressive hardware for the price. For starters, there is a large display outside. The panel here is a 6.44-inch full-HD + AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 × 2400 pixels. However, it doesn’t support fast refresh rates like some of its competitors do.

The display uses a 20: 9 now normal aspect ratio and a high pixel density of 408ppi. The panel also supports HDR 10 for high quality video playback and has a high peak brightness.

Under the hood, the phone hides an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded using a MicroSD card. The phone pairs this basic hardware with software solutions like Ultra Game Mode which can help improve the gaming performance of the device. The Vivo V20 also brings Android 11 out of the box with the Funtouch OS 11 skin on top.

For cameras, the Vivo V20 is equipped with a 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 main lens that has been paired with an 8-megapixel multifunction camera capable of clicking super wide-angle, bokeh and super macro shots. There is also a 2 megapixel monochrome lens too to add extra detail to the shots.

The Vivo V20 also carries a large 4000mAh battery pack which should be good for everyday use with moderate-to-heavy use. Additionally, the phone also offers one of the fastest charging solutions in the segment with 33W flash charging support. Vivo claims that this can charge the device’s battery to 65% in just 30 minutes.

Vivo’s V20 comes with a 720G Snapdragon SoC and a 4000mAh battery.
