Business News: Tim Griffin is being supported by Trump in the AG offer.
Former President Donald Trump has backed Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin in his candidacy for Arkansas Attorney General.
Trump released the following statement on Friday, March 5, saying Griffin was his pick in the 2022 race.
“Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin, who is running for the office of Attorney General, is a highly respected military veteran who will always fight for the great people of Arkansas. Tim will be tough on crime, he will stand up for our Second Amendment,” he will love our military and our veterans and will be with the brave men and women of law enforcement. Tim Griffin has my full and complete support. “
Griffin was looking for the Arkansas governor’s seat, but in early February he pivoted on the AG run. His exit left two candidates in the GOP camp for governor: AG Leslie Rutledge and former Trump White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
“I am honored to have President Trump’s support in the race for the Attorney General,” Griffin wrote in an email Friday. “I have always admired President Trump’s determination to deliver on the conservative promises he made, especially the appointment of judges who understand their role is to play the law, not to make it. As Arkansas Attorney General, I will bring the same determination to defend our Constitution, defend our brave law enforcement officers, and fight crime and corruption without fear or favor. “
Trump formally approved Sanders in late January calling her “a warrior who will always fight for the people of Arkansas and do what is right, not what is politically correct.”
Griffin amassed several other accolades in his bid for the Attorney General, including South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, and former Trump campaign leaders Corey Lewandowski. and David Bossie.
