The Oppo Reno 5 series relies on Snapdragon 765G, Dimensity 1000+ chipset

    Oppo is working on the next Reno series, called the Reno 5 series. Several leaks have emerged so far, indicating the fact that the smartphones in this new series will support 5G and carry updated specifications. There may reportedly be a Reno 5, a Reno 5 Pro, and a Reno 5 Pro + that Oppo will launch at the event. Details of two of these devices have now popped up on Geekbench’s benchmark website, including information on their processors.

    The Oppo Reno 5 series phones that have appeared on the Geekbench website with the model numbers PEGM00 and PDST00. The first device was listed on the website with the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor while the second model can be seen powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. Both of these processors come with built-in 5G modems, which will facilitate 5G connectivity on Reno 5 series models. However, it is unclear which model will run the MediaTek processor and which will be powered by the Qualcomm chipset.

    The Geekbench listings also revealed some extra information about the Reno 5 series devices. The listings show that there will be Android 11 software and 8GB of RAM on both devices. This could mean that a variant for each smartphone will have 8GB of RAM, but there may be multiple variants with more RAM. Internal storage variants for the Reno 5 series devices are also unknown at the moment, but there may be at least 64GB of storage in the company’s history when it comes to the Reno series. Predictably, a microSD card will also be present on both of these phones.

    Apart from this information, the Geekbench listings don’t reveal much. But we’ve been treated with various leaks that paint a picture of what to expect from Oppo Reno 5 series smartphones. According to rumors, the Oppo Reno 5 will come with a 6.43-inch OLED panel, a 4300 mAh battery with 65W fast charging and a configuration of four cameras on the back, including sensors 64MP, 8MP, 2MP and 2MP. Information about the front camera is not known, but we can assume it has a 32MP or 44MP camera, based on what previous models have brought on board.

    The Oppo Reno 5 series is rumored to launch in January or February next year, although a concrete timing is not yet clear. Oppo is also set to launch the flagship Find X3 devices next year in February with some interesting technologies, including the 10-bit color system and a new dual camera system involving Sony IMX700 series sensors.

    Oppo is rumored to bring the Reno 5 5G series to the markets next year in January or February.
