There is a WayForward remake of the original game already on the PS4, but this collection is not to be confused with that – it’s the original NES and Game Boy versions you’re getting here, complete with their legendary 8-bit soundtrack. Interestingly, this collection is utilising Limited Run Games’ new multiformat emulator, the Carbon Engine – and yes, of course, there will be physical versions available.
The Rescue of Princess Blobette, a 1990 Game Boy sequel to the legendary 1989 NES puzzle platformer A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia, is coming to both the PS5 and PS4. The two games, which were created by famed Pitfall programmer David Crane, have you feeding jelly beans to the titular flexible mass, which then turns into other tools. It may, for example, be transformed into a trampoline to assist you in reaching higher regions.
