So, what does the BLU F19 5G have to offer? Well, don’t expect this to be a Galaxy S22 Ultra competitor. In fact, it might be a more worthy competitor for the Pixel 6a. The design is nice-looking as far as mid-range phones go. The back looks to be made of glass that plays with the light. There’s a camera island on the top right with four sensors. The bottom right has some information about the BLU and the phone.
BLU is a company that most people are unfamiliar with. It may not be at the top of the charts, but that hasn’t stopped it from growing as a business. The BLU F91 5G is the company’s first 5G phone, which was just announced. This is a low-cost device with a functional design. BLU isn’t like the other smartphone manufacturers you’re familiar with. It doesn’t actually make phones. Instead, it rebrands phones from smaller companies. QiKU, Gionee, Doogee, and Tinno Mobile are among the OEMs it rebrands.
Going down to the internals, this phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, but BLU didn’t say what GPU is in the phone. This phone has a decent 8GB of RAM, with 128GB of onboard storage. If you want to expand that storage, there’s good news and bad news: you can expand it but only up to 256GB.
Upfront, we see minimal bezels and a punch-hole front and center. The front looks good, but there’s a slight chin bezel on the bottom. We see the power button on the right side of the phone with the volume rocker on the left side. On the bottom, there’s a charging port, the bottom-firing speaker with a 3.5mm headphone jack on the left side. The display is a massive 6.8-inch “Infinity Dot Display” with a FullHD+ resolution (1080 x 2460). It doesn’t state if it’s an AMOLED or LCD display, so it’s most likely LCD.
If you’re interested in buying a BLU, it retails for $299.99, but at the time of writing this article, it’s 27% off which brings the price down to $219.99.
As for the camera, it has a quad-camera setup. The main camera is a 48MP shooter, and it’s accompanied by a 5MP ultrawide camera (115°), a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Upfront, there’s a 16MP selfie camera. Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged by 18W of power. Unfortunately, the BLU F19 will launch with Android 11 out of the box, and we don’t expect this phone to receive many platform updates in the future.
