Your laptop does a lot of things, from being the workstation where you are productive with your work to watching Netflix movies and YouTube videos. But a laptop could save a man’s life is something you would never expect from a laptop, right? Either way, a Microsoft Surface Book may have saved a man’s life from a bullet.
A Twitter @itsExtreme user said that his Microsoft Surface Book took the blame for him by enduring a bullet and saved his life. He posted photos to show how the bullet destroyed the laptop’s display and touchpad shattering them both into pieces. There is also what looks like a squashed bullet lying next to the trackpad in the photo.
“My laptop literally saved my life … Someone shot through the floor of my apartment building,” the man wrote on his Twitter profile along with the photo of the damaged Surface laptop.
Aaron (his alias on Twitter) tagged Microsoft in his tweet to inform the company of the wonder its flagship laptop managed to pull off. But the company did not respond. Also, there are no confirmations from local authorities to confirm whether it was a bullet that managed to enter Aaron’s premises from a shot. That is why it will be best if you take this statement with a little skepticism.
The tweet is going viral, attracting a horde of reactions and possible explanations for how Nokia’s venerable feature phones would have handled this situation much better. Seriously, one possible explanation makes sense here. Referring to an iFixit article where the Surface Book teardown was mentioned, one user pointed out that the bullets resisted one of the two batteries inside. But the battery would have exploded in that case.
To justify this argument, it can be said that the battery may be inactive and beyond its life cycle, which would also mean that the laptop is working while charging or is completely exhausted. Whatever the reason, the laptop has outdone itself by saving the user’s life in a way not even Microsoft could have imagined.
