SUNY Poly accepts applications on the new online Bachelor of Science degree finance program

Students will be able to succeed in the finance world as they earn a degree at their own pace, officials said, adding that applications are already being accepted for spring 2022.

The new online format, approved by SUNY and the New York State Education Department, prepares students with critical skills and employs the latest financial technologies and is 100% online.

  • “SUNY Poly’s online Bachelor of Science in Finance builds on a growing number of online programs now offered by this institution which are designed to meet students where and when it is most convenient for them,” said SUNY Poly Interim Provost Dr. Steven Schneider.

  • “SUNY Poly’s new online delivery of the Bachelor of Science in Finance program is an excellent and timely complement to SUNY Poly’s wide-ranging educational offerings,” said SUNY Poly Acting President Dr. Tod A. Laursen. “With the same high standards as SUNY Poly’s traditional in-person Finance program, this online format allows students the flexibility to complete the requirements in a way that aligns with the demands of life.”

“We know that high quality online educational programs such as this can reach students who might not otherwise be able to attend college in the traditional sense, and we are excited to reach those for whom flexibility in learning modality can help foster a lifetime of success,” the business dean added.

“SUNY Poly’s College of Business is proud to provide an online learning environment for students who are eager to earn a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree,” said SUNY Poly College of Business Dean Dr. Arthur Lu.

The 124-credit, semester-based B.S. in Finance program features opportunities for hands-on learning through real-world projects and a student-run investment portfolio. In particular, the program allows students to use data sets ranging from large banking databases to high-frequency time series.

Students can study on their own time and from anywhere they need to be to fulfill program requirements and earn their degree.
