New Delhi legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi underwent bypass surgery at a city hospital a few days ago after complaining of heart problems and is recovering well. 74-year-old Bedi underwent the procedure 2-3 days ago and is expected to be discharged from soon the hospital, according to a close confidant of the former captain of India.
“As far as I know, he had some heart problems and underwent bypass surgery 2-3 days ago on the advice of doctors,” he told PTI. “He is currently doing well and recovering from surgery and is expected to be discharged from hospital soon, ”he added. Bedi, a leading Orthodox left arm spinner in his playing days, represented India in 67 tests and 10 ODI between 1967 and 1979, scalping 266 and seven wickets respectively.
