Sony has announced that State of Play will take place on June 2nd, including announcements of new games

“We’ll have some exciting reveals from our third-party partners, plus a sneak peek at several games in development for PlayStation VR2,” they wrote in the announcement blog post. We don’t have any details on the games that will be shown off yet, but you’ll be able to find out by tuning into State of Play on the official PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels on June 2. This is the third year running without an E3 conference, where some of the biggest gaming announcements usually take place – but that hasn’t stopped publishers from holding their own presentations in its place.

Sony has announced that a State of Play conference will take held on June 2nd, with fresh revelations and updates on PlayStation VR2 titles to be revealed. Meta weapons for Competitive and Trials of Osiris are the best Destiny 2 PvP weapons. Many gamers have been waiting for the Big Three publishers to reveal their own presentations after the highly-anticipated E3 gaming expo was regretfully scrapped for 2022 — and Sony has done exactly that. Sony announced in a blog post on May 27 that their next State of Play event will take place on Thursday, June 2 at 3 p.m. PT (that’s midnight in the UK) and will have 30 minutes of material.

Highlights

  • Sony will finally reveal what’s in the pipeline for the PlayStation 5 in the coming months with a new “PlayStation Showcase” event arriving today, September 9. As per the PlayStation Blog, the event will “weigh in at around 40 minutes and include updates from PlayStation Studios and some of the industry’s most imaginative developers,” with games being shown that are launching in “Holiday 2021 and beyond”. Further developer updates will follow the event, although Sony has yet to confirm which developers will be involved.

  • Microsoft have confirmed that an Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase will take place on June 12, which is when their E3 slot would have been. They’ll be focusing on new games for Xbox, PC, and Game Pass.
