Sony is looking for a new experience by making a drone for camera users. Drones are popular with professional video makers for capturing cinematic footage. Sony is definitely keeping tabs on the latest trends and now wants to enter the drone market. The imaging brand gave its new venture the name “Airpeak”.
First spotted by Sony Alpha Rumors, Sony has announced a new drone project in the field of artificial intelligence robotics. Sony Japan has even shared the Airpeak teaser on its official website. The company says the Airpeak brand “will reflect its aspiration to contribute to further evolution and the creation of unprecedented value through its imaging and sensing technology.”
For video content creators, Sony says: “Airpeak will support the creativity of video creators to the fullest extent possible, with the aim of contributing to the further development of the entertainment industry.”
As Sony enters the drone area, it will eventually face stiff competition from DJI drones. DJI or Da-Jiang Innovations is a Chinese technology company that acquires the first position in the production of DJI Mavic series drones.
The imaging brand is always trying to grab the attention of modern users. The company introduced Sony ZV-1 compact vlogging camera in India at Rs 77,990. The camera integrates a 20.1 megapiexl CMOS sensor, 2.7x digital zoom, LCD touch screen panel and more.
Returning to Sony’s next product, the company said it will continue to disseminate information related to the Airpeak brand. Sony will also continue to obtain feedback from drone users through co-creation activities to prepare for the launch. The new line of Sony Airpeak drones will be unveiled in Spring 2021.
