The newly launched Galaxy S20 FE from Samsung is reportedly giving some disappointment to the users who bought it. Some of these users report touchscreen problems with the Galaxy S20 FE and have turned to Reddit to share their experience. Some have also reported the issues on Samsung XDA-Developers user forums.
The Galaxy S20 Fe was recently launched in India priced at Rs 49,999. In its name FE stands for Fan edition, although the phone can be called a scaled-down version of the Galaxy S20.
There are a number of threads on Reddit where Galaxy S20 FE users have reported issues and found that other users are also facing similar issues.
Essentially, there are three types of touchscreen problems reported by users. Some users say that every time they swipe their finger on the screen, it is recorded as a tap and not as a swipe. At the same time there are also users who claim that their Galaxy S20 FE touchscreen is too sensitive and records touches as a swipe. So some users also report that their phones’ touchscreens are not responding randomly.
“I’ve had my S20 FE 5G (T-Mobile) for a few days and have noticed weird touchscreen behavior and wanted to see if anyone is experiencing the same,” wrote a Reddit user named drlabcoat on the website. “This morning I woke up and the accidental touch protection kept going on and I was getting ghost shots every time I tried to unlock the phone. I cleaned the screen thinking it was a little bit of dirt causing it, but it didn’t help. I struggled for a while, but in the end I restarted it, solving the problem. “
“I just got (Galaxy S20 FE) today and I’m having the same (overly sensitive) problem. Super annoying and it happens while browsing and using gestures,” Zestyclose_Ad368, another user, wrote in a reply.
A user named GrumpyManu agreed to this. User wrote: “It’s happening to me too, with passages interpreted as taps, especially on YouTube, it’s super annoying.”
The problems are apparently widespread enough to be a part of reports on websites like Android Central and PhoneArena.
The Galaxy S20 FE was recently launched in India. In India it sells for Rs 49,999. The phone sports a 6.5-inch screen. It is positioned as a cheaper Galaxy S20 variant. But there are a number of tweaks Samsung has made to the phone to cut costs. The phone has a mainly plastic body, uses an old Gorilla Glass 3 layer and has a FullHD screen instead of the QHD display.
