The native, current-gen version of SnowRunner benefits from 4K resolution, a smooth 60 frames-per-second, improved depth of field, and speedier loading times. There’s no mention of the DualSense and its bells and whistles, but this seems like the perfect game to take advantage of the fancy pad, so hopefully that’s included too. The best bit is that owners of the PS4 game can upgrade to the PS5 version for free, and save data will transfer over. You can also claim the Anniversary DLC at no cost, giving you access to a pair of additional trucks.
SnowRunner and other simulation games aren’t for everyone, but we’re big fans of these strangely enjoyable games. This one is all about driving enormous haulage lorries across difficult terrain and circumstances, and while it may be a hassle in certain respects, it can also be a thrilling experience. As Focus Entertainment introduces the game to PS5, players will be able to drive these trucks and automobiles to their maximum in new levels of detail.

It also happens to launch right alongside Season 7: Compete & Conquer. Available as standalone DLC or as part of the Year 2 Pass, it introduces racing elements to SnowRunner. A map based on Tennessee and two new vehicles are added, and you can compete on dirt and road circuits as well as a rough off-road course. There are time trial challenges, or you can race friends online. Will you be checking out SnowRunner on PS5? Sing the Mr. Plow jingle for the rest of the day in the comments section below.
