CLIFTON PARK – Luke Lavery hated the way the 2019-20 season ended for the Shenendehowa men’s basketball team and wasn’t all that enamored of having to wait until February to start preparing for what will end up being one month of play as a senior. What Lavery likes is being able to be with his friends again basically.
“It was great, almost like all 12 guys were hit by a gun,” Lavery said. “We are super excited to be back. This group has been together for a long time. It was weird to go so long without being together.”
The coronavirus pandemic may have limited the amount of time Shenendehowa’s roster can be together, but the Plainsmen plan to extract every ounce of fun they can. from a shortened season. Shen will open their season on Friday at home against Suburban Council opponents Ballston Spa.
“It’s really crazy because about two weeks ago, we thought there was almost a zero percent chance of being on the pitch,” Lavery said. “We will enjoy what we have. The whole thing could be stopped at any moment. “
