Rumors suggest Samsung may launch the phone on January 14th.

    According to a latest report from Reuters, Samsung may now launch its new high-end Galaxy S-series phones sooner than expected. The Galaxy S series, which usually launches in February or March, could see the launch in January this time.

    The South Korean company is preparing to launch its latest Samsung Galaxy S21 as early as January next year. Whereas, Samsung’s Galaxy S20 phone launched in March of this year, so to meet that timeline, the company is expected to release the new Galaxy S21 in March 2020. Samsung may now unveil the new Galaxy S21 in the first month of next year.

    Reuters notes that with an early launch, Samsung also wants to anticipate Huawei which is currently banned in the US. However, with the new US administration headed by Joe Biden starting its mandate in January, Huawei may catch its breath in the coming months. Samsung hopes to go out with its phones before Huawei can resume doing business in the US.

Compared to the performance of Samsung’s flagship smartphone in 2019, the company shipped 59% fewer Galaxy S20 5G series phones to the US in the second quarter. This was observed by a research firm known as Canalys. Significantly, Apple shipped 15% more than its flagship iPhone 11 compared to last year iPhone XR smartphone model.
