Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra gets NFC certification, likely to launch in January 2021

In the past few weeks, we’ve had a number of leaks and rumors that Samsung is preparing to launch its next series of Galaxy S21 phones in January next year. So far, we’ve received a lot of information about the series, with renders and specs leaking ahead of their launch.

And now, one of those three phones, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has received NFC certification, leading us to believe that the phone is now closer than ever to launch. While the list doesn’t reveal anything else about the device, it confirms that the Galaxy S21 Ultra – or SM-G008U – is indeed real.

Previously, 91Mobiles and tipster Ishan Agarwal teamed up to reveal that the Galaxy S21 Ultra has an internal codename like O3 and carries the model number SM-G998U, which is also the same model number that was seen in the escape. of today. The report also reveals that the device will come with a 2X Dynamic AMOLED display, a 5,000mAh battery and more.

According to the leak, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will come with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the outside. While the leak doesn’t confirm this, there are hints that this display may update at high frequencies of 144Hz.

The leak also didn’t confirm the chipset on board, but it is expected to be a Snapdragon 875 SoC for models sold in the US and the Exynos 2100 SoC in India and other European countries. However, what the leak confirmed is that the device will run Android 11 based on One UI 3.0 out of the box. There will be a massive 108 megapixel main camera on the back, while the phone will also be equipped with a 40 megapixel front camera. Leading the show, according to the leak, will be a 5,000mAh battery inserted inside.

As mentioned above, the phones are likely to launch in January. This would be the first version for a flagship of the Samsung Galaxy S. There should be three models, including a high-end S21 Ultra with support for an S Pen and new camera features.

Interestingly, it will also be the first time Samsung has launched a new Galaxy device this close to iPhone Apple’s flagship. Barely months between them, a January launch for the Galaxy S21 could essentially make choosing between the two a more difficult exercise and could tip many undecided buyers in Samsung’s favor.
