Resident Evil Village’s ‘Maiden’ demo available to play now on PS5

The demo

Tech News: Resident Evil Village’s ‘Maiden’ demo available to play now on PS5.

If you have a PlayStation 5, you probably know there isn’t much to play at the moment, especially if you’ve already played Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, and Astro’s Playroom. But here’s something that will keep you going (for a while): You can now download the Resident Evil Village “Maiden” demo, ahead of the full game release date just announced on May 7th. The demo wasn’t available on the PS Store in the beginning, but it’s been there for an hour now.

In the PlayStation Store on my PS5, the game was featured in the “What’s Hot” section and I was able to start the download by pressing a couple of buttons. But if you’re not near your PS5 and want to remotely download the demo so you can play it later, there are a few ways to do it.

  • If you’re using a browser, here’s the link to Maiden’s entry on PlayStation Store, where you should be able to add the game to your library.
  • If you are using the PlayStation mobile app, tap the magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen and search for “Maiden”. For me, Maiden was the fourth search result. Tap it and you can start the download from There.
  • On the mobile app, you can also go to the Maiden page from the Resident Evil Village list by tapping the box above the pre-order button and selecting Maiden from the list of Village editions.

Maiden is a separate experience from Resident Evil Village where you play a character known as “the maiden” instead of Village’s protagonist, Ethan Winters. If you want to know more about the demo before you download it, check out this post on the PlayStation Blog. Resident Evil Village will launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC on May 7th. Capcom says a “cross-platform demo” for the game will be available this spring.
