Redmi has officially announced the launch of the Note 9 Pro 5G for November 26, also announcing the launch of two new devices that will accompany it at launch: Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 4G. The development comes after countless leaks and rumors of not only the phones launch date but also its specs and features.
Silencing all speculations now, Redmi CEO Lu Weibing confirmed not only the launch date of the device but also key specs, including the fact that the Redmi Note 9 Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset and a camera setup capable of taking pictures with “192 million pixels”.
Aside from that, the company hasn’t revealed anything about the phone in its teaser post. However, the phone has leaked more than once, revealing the key internals of the device before launch. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G was also spotted on Geekbench.
The list reveals some key specifications of the device and shows that the device will be very different from the Redmi Note 9 devices already available in other countries around the world. The listing on Geekbench talks about the Redmi 9 Pro and states that the phone could be equipped with Android 10 and 8GB of RAM.
More details are available in leaks that say the Redmi Note 9 5G will be priced at 999 Yuan while the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G could start at 1,499 Yuan. The two phones are said to have slightly different specifications. This is because the Redmi Note 9 5G is said to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC, paired with three configurations of RAM and storage: 4GB-64GB, 6GB-128GB and 8GB-256GB. There may be a 6.53-inch 1080p LCD and 5000mAh battery on the device. From a camera standpoint, there may be a 48MP shooter among others on the back and a 13MP snapper on the front.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G will instead be equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Rumors claim that the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G may have a 108 megapixel main camera on the back while the selfie camera may have a 16MP shooter. There will also be an in-display sensor on the smartphone. And while display details aren’t available, we can expect an OLED panel.
