Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series is known for bringing budget phones with impressive hardware under the hood, and it looks like the company is looking to take things to the next level with its next smartphone in the series.
According to a new leak, the Redmi Note 10 series could prove to be a big upgrade over its predecessor and bring with it some really impressive specs. According to a Weibo post by Digital Chat Station, the high-end variant of the Redmi Note 10 will be equipped with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 750G processor. The report also claims that the phone will be equipped with a 108-megapixel primary sensor, as well as pack a 4800mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
The report also adds that the cheaper Redmi Note 10 variant will only have a 48-megapixel main sensor, while the processor powering it will also be a slight downgrade with the device expected to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 720 5G chipset.
Interestingly, Xiaomi wants to use the 108-megapixel camera on the Redmi Note 10 that it previously used on its flagships like the Xiaomi Mi 10. The lens has also been used in other flagships across the industry, with Samsung also using a variation in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Recently, Motorola also launched Edge + with a 108-megapixel sensor.
The presence of the 108 megapixel camera will be a big leap for the serious Redmi that has also featured some really impressive cameras in the past. As a reminder, in the Redmi Note 9 series, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max comes with a 64-megapixel AI quad-camera setup paired with an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera and a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor .
More information on how Redmi Note 10 will improve on Redmi Note 9 should be known in the weeks to come. And if the Digital Chat Station credible whistleblower is to be believed, the wait may not be too long. According to the whistleblower, the Redmi Note 10 will be launched in China by the end of October. There are no concrete launch dates yet. However, Redmi will likely make an official announcement sometime before launch.
The tipster also hinted that the Redmi Note 10 could arrive in India by November, which sounds logical because Xiaomi traditionally launches a new Note series device at festivals in India. His Redmi Note 10 will likely play in Diwali season.
