The Redmi Note 9 is ready to debut in China tomorrow, and before its launch Redmi shared another teaser, confirming that it will also launch a new smartwatch in its home country.
The teaser was shared by Xiaomi’s Lu Weibing, who in a Weibo teaser informed the company’s fans of the launch of the new smartwatch. While the teaser doesn’t explicitly say the company will launch a smartwatch tomorrow, it does confirm a wearable with a square-shaped screen. There is no clarity on the name of the smartwatch at the moment, but rumors suggest it could be a renamed Mi Watch Lite. This smartwatch is the same one that was spotted on FCC last month along with its image and specs.
As per the list, Mi Watch Lite will sport a 1.41-inch color touchscreen and will support automatic brightness. The smartwatch is said to be water resistant to 50 meters and can monitor the number of fitness activities, including swimming performance and more. The smartwatch also carries a GPS chip and also features a heart rate sensor for 24/7 heart rate monitoring. It is powered by a 230mAh battery.
Apart from that, no other details are known about the smartwatch at the moment. However, what is known is that it will launch alongside the Redmi Note 9 5G series in China tomorrow. The series is said to bring two new phones with it, one of which will be the Redmi Note 9 5G and the other will be the Note 9 Pro 5G. The two phones are said to feature slightly different specs, with the Redmi Note 9 5G rumored to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC, paired with three RAM and storage configurations: 4GB-64GB, 6GB- 128GB and 8GB- 256GB. There may be a 6.53-inch 1080p LCD and 5000mAh battery on the device. From a camera standpoint, there may be a 48MP shooter among others on the back and a 13MP snapper on the front.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G will instead be equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Rumors claim that the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G may have a 108 megapixel main camera on the back while the selfie camera may have a 16MP shooter. There will also be an in-display sensor on the smartphone.
