Realme Watch S was officially launched months after its larger and more advanced variant was teased at IFA 2020 in Berlin. While that larger model, called the Watch S Pro is not yet official, Realme is introducing the Watch S in Pakistan today. The new Watch S is a big upgrade over the company’s first smartwatch called Realme Watch. The S watch offers a circular design, a faster processor, and a light-sensitive display that can automatically change brightness.

Realme Watch S Price, Availability

The Realme Watch S is priced at PKR 14,999, which translates to around Rs 7,000 in India. It will be available for purchase on the market starting November 14. The company hasn’t said when it will take it to other markets, but Indian firm chief Madhav Sheth recently confirmed that both the Watch S and Watch S Pro will arrive in India. Subsequently, a media report suggested the launch could take place in November.

Realme Watch S. Specifications

The Realme Watch S has a 1.3-inch auto-brightness display with a resolution of 360 × 360 pixels. The display uses a photosensitive sensor to adjust the brightness based on the available light in the surrounding environment. It is round in shape, contrary to the boxy design that was seen on the Realme watch. This screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. The Realme Watch S has 12 watch faces on board, but the company said it will add more, around 100, later.

Realme’s latest smartwatch does not run on Wear OS but on proprietary software, but it is an improvement over that with the original Realme Watch. The circular design of the Realme Watch S consists of an aluminum alloy ring with two buttons on the right. The straps are made with what the company calls Liquid Silicone. It is available in blue, orange, green and black colors. One of them will be shipped with the smartwatch during purchase, but the rest will need to be purchased separately.

In terms of health and fitness related features, Realme Watch S offers a PPG heart rate monitor and SpO2 blood oxygen level monitor. The data collected by these sensors can be recorded in the Realme Link app available on Android and will be needed to pair the watch with an Android phone. The Realme Watch S also has 16 sport modes, including the new exercise bike and rowing machine. The smartwatch is also equipped with a sleep monitoring monitor.

For added productivity, Realme Watch S comes with a call rejection feature, smart notifications for selected apps, and controls for music and camera apps on the phone. Realme Watch S comes with an IP68 rating with water resistance up to 1.5 meters. But Realme claims that the smartwatch is not suitable for wearing in the shower or while swimming. Inside the smartwatch is a 390mAh battery which is rated to offer 15 days of life. The watch is recharged via a POGO pin charger supplied in the package.

Realme has launched the new smartwatch in Pakistan but may soon bring it to more markets, including India.
