Power Up: Xbox Story wins a Daytime Emmy

Video games are continuing to receive recognition at mainstream awards shows — from next year, the Grammys will include a Best Score Soundtrack category to honour music in games.

A Daytime Emmy Award has been given to a documentary series that explores the development of the Xbox gaming system. Produced by ten100, Power On: The Story Of Xbox tells the tales of key events in the 20-year history of the platform, from the design of the original prototype through the creation of Xbox Live and Game Pass. Following the 20th anniversary of the first Xbox console, the series was published in December of last year.
