Business News: PayPal supports CSA Academy for assistance to Covid.
Fintech giant PayPal on Wednesday said it will help the Common Services Centers (CSC) Academy set up PSA oxygen facilities in four states and support efforts to offer services such as antigen testing and vaccination registration.
PayPal will support CSC Academy – CSC’s CSR wing – in setting up PSA oxygen systems in five hospitals in four states: one each in Bengaluru (Karnataka), Chennai (TN) and Jaunpur (UP) and two in Patna (Bihar) ).
“These plants will be fully automated, designed to run unsupervised with minimal startup time to generate oxygen with the desired purity in minutes,” a statement read.
PayPal will also sponsor mobile vans that will work to build awareness and provide services such as antigen testing, vaccination registration, basic COVID drug kits and essential supplies in Karnataka, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh, he added.
CSC’s village-level entrepreneurs (VLEs) will manage these vans and help those without a smartphone register for vaccination. They will also provide antigen tests and basic COVID-19 drug kits.
The vans will also be equipped with oxygen cylinders to be used in an emergency and will give citizens access to telemedicine consultation with doctors through the CSC, the press release reads.
In addition, the vans will be equipped with a cash pickup service via DigiPay and will provide essential supplies to citizens via CSC Grameen eStore on hand, he added.
PayPal will also support CSC Academy in training 50,000 VLEs, including 40,000 VLE women, as “Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) Ambassadors” to raise awareness on preventative measures against COVID-19.
‘We have worked closely with MeitY and CSC on various initiatives over the years. We have now extended this partnership to promote COVID appropriate behavior, the availability of medical facilities and the expansion of the vaccination campaign in Tier II cities, ”said Nath Parameshwaran, PayPal’s director of corporate affairs for India.
