Oppo appears to be planning to launch its smart TVs in India. According to a new report, the Chinese company will expand its portfolio focused on the connected devices business in India. Not only Oppo, but other BBK Electronics companies OnePlus and Realme are also looking to expand their presence in the smart device market in India. The biggest highlight of this expansion strategy is to dive deeper into the smart TV market, currently dominated by Xiaomi.

An Economic Times report said Oppo will soon launch its smart TVs in India. The company finally launched its smart TVs a few weeks ago in China. There are two models and one of them is equipped with a pop-up camera, a 4K 120Hz display, and powerful speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning. OnePlus already sells a good range of TVs in India where the first class model sells for around Rs 1 lakh. Likewise, Realme recently launched its most advanced smart television model for Rs 42,999 to play in the Diwali festival.

“India is one of the key markets for us and we are constantly working to introduce new affordable products that are essential for Indian consumers. We are accelerating into the era of the Internet of Things by actively expanding a richer IoT product portfolio, ”a spokesperson for Oppo India said in the report.

This statement does not directly say that TVs will be launched, but it seems reasonable that they will. Oppo recently launched its audio products in India at a frantic pace. Most of the new products proved to be on par with the products of Oppo’s rivals. This is satisfactorily indicative of the potential Oppo will show in the smart TV market. Oppo is perhaps trying to dethrone Xiaomi on the market. This should also be a threat to Samsung and Sony.

Oppo recently launched the S1 and R1 Smart TVs in China with features that are not common in smart TVs.

News Underline:
