Oppo Find X3 may feature new dual camera technology using Sony sensor

Oppo is doing everything it can with next year’s flagship Find X3 series. The company has already provided important tips on what to expect from Find X3 smartphones. This includes the DCI-P3 color gamut with a 10-bit system for the phone’s leading hardware coding systems, which is a major step forward for the smartphone industry. Oppo is now planning to overtake another technology. A new report has stated that the Oppo Find X3 series will have an advanced dual camera system that will work differently.

The Find X3 and Find X3 Pro smartphones will have better dual camera modules that Oppo is expected to test right now. This system will likely use Sony’s IMX7xx series of camera sensors along with a larger CMOS background and higher pixel count, according to a Weibo leak. We may be looking at more powerful cameras than the 108MP camera available on some smartphones. Sony’s latest sensor for phone cameras is the IMX686 which is used on top-tier smartphones. I tried it on Asus ROG Phone 3 and found it quite impressive for the price category it is available in.

Oppo’s Find X3 and Find X3 Pro are believed to be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor which will be launched in December at the company’s event. Since this will be the fastest processor for the Android world, it makes sense that Oppo is making the most of this processor’s potential. A highly advanced camera system will require more power than the Snapdragon 875 will likely be able to deliver. Not just the new camera system, the Oppo Find X3 series will feature the new 10-bit color coding system for the camera, storage and display to ensure color depth and accuracy remain intact.

Some other rumors have indicated that the Find X3 and Find X3 Pro smartphones will be equipped with a 3K resolution screen, with richer colors. There may also be a higher refresh rate with which this screen is expected to be provided. Current Find X2 series smartphones sport the 120Hz refresh rate, so we might look to the Find X3 series which carries the 144Hz refresh rate with which only a select set of smartphones are provided. But while that’s good news, it won’t make much of a difference to your experience unless boundaries are crossed during gameplay.

For what it’s worth, the Oppo Find X3 and Find X3 Pro will be packed with several advanced technologies that no other smartphone currently has. And with that, let’s hope Oppo manages to get big in the market, big enough to finally take on Samsung, Apple and Google phones.

The current Samsung, Apple and Google phones are all powerful in their respective departments. For example, Google Pixel phones are known for their exemplary photography skills while the iPhone comes as a complete package that pushes the envelope when it comes to smartphone functionality. The iPhone 12 has the new Dolby Vision video recording feature available. Samsung, on the other hand, has made Android software designed for productivity, making sure there are no compromises on the type of photo quality.

Oppo has most of these technologies, sometimes even more, but it has yet to become a popular brand in the premium category. I am sure that the revolutionary technologies that Oppo is launching with Find X3 will catapult the brand to achieve this. Find X3 phones are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2021.

Oppo is making Find X3 and Find X3 Pro the devices capable of facing Samsung and Apple phones.
