OnePlus Watch was speculated to arrive alongside OnePlus 8T at yesterday’s event. But that didn’t happen to the surprise of OnePlus fans. Well, it looks like the company has decided when it will launch the OnePlus watch. But while it has chosen not to share it with us, OnePlus is anticipating the arrival of its first smartwatch in India.
In a tweet, OnePlus India posted a sketch of a smartwatch that it claims to belong to the year 2015. All we see in the accompanying image is a dial and strap, but there is no defined image to infer anything. OnePlus captioned this image: “More things are coming for the OnePlus ecosystem. It’s just a matter of time.” The key word here is “time” which points directly to OnePlus’ next smartwatch.
But while we have confirmation from the horse’s mouth, we’re not sure when OnePlus’s smartwatch is expected. The company isn’t saying anything about the launch date, but if we were to guess, OnePlus could be looking at a pre-Diwali timeline to ring in the festivities. Again, we’re not sure if this will be true. OnePlus will provide more suggestions in the coming days, but until that happens, we are left with this sketch and speculation.
OnePlus Watch is said to have a round dial, but nothing is set in stone at the moment. The smartwatch may be more like what Oppo has packed with its Oppo Watch. This could mean that we are looking into the Wear OS software that will run on the OnePlus smartwatch. The chipset is also unknown, but we might see the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor. OnePlus has always been about the latest and highest-class chipsets, in which case the SoC Wear 4100 seems like the right candidate.
For what it’s worth, the OnePlus Watch will be a worthy deal for OnePlus users.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus 8T earlier this week, but excluded OnePlus Watch. Well, it will come soon.
- The first OnePlus Watch teaser came out confirming that it will launch soon.
