The OnePlus 9 series has been the subject of an increasing number of leaks and rumors in recent weeks as the device has already seen its key specs and design details revealed in exhaustive leaks. The OnePlus 9 series of devices is expected to launch early next year, with reports pointing to a mid-March timeline for the phone’s launch.
LastOneP week we saw the new OnePlus 9 CAD renders first appear online and then the OnePlus 9 Pro being spotted on the benchmarking website, Geekbench, giving us a clue as to what the insides of the phone might look like. However, we now also have CAD-based renders of the OnePlus 9 Pro revealing the design of the next high-end device.
Coming courtesy of @OnLeaks, these renders reveal a revised design from last year. The renders show that OnePlus is looking for a design that is a mix of the OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8T. This is because the OnePlus 9 Pro appears to keep the elements of the OnePlus 8 Pro with a curved display, but it also borrows design elements from the OnePlus 8T.
The renders also show four camera sensors on the back of the device, which honestly look a little inspired by the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Although there appears to be a small difference, with OnePlus choosing to place metal rings around the two primary lenses. @ OnLeaks in the latest leak also reveals that the display here is a 6.7-inch panel with the phone being mostly glass and a metal.
Previously, a Geekbench listing of the OnePlus 9 Pro had revealed key details about the device, with the OnePlus 9 Pro showing that it achieved a single-core score of 1,122 and 2,733 in the multi-core test. The benchmark list also showed the OnePlus 9 Pro will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor.
The chipset proved to be paired with 8GB of RAM. However, this is likely for the entry-level variant, with OnePlus mostly coming out with phones with up to 12GB of RAM. Furthermore, the listing also reveals that this setup will be paired with the latest Android 11 OS out of the box.
Aside from that, we know little about the phone. However, there have been leaks that have spoken about the specs of the device. Reports say the phone will have a 144Hz display and will come with a design that will feature an IP68 certified body. The phone is also rumored to get NFC support and the presence of dual stereo speakers.
