OnePlus 8T gets new OxygenOS update, improves power consumption and heat management

The OnePlus 8T is the company’s latest flagship smartphone, one that still appears to improve over time due to the software updates the company is announcing for it. After releasing the first update for the device earlier, OnePlus 8T now receives the second software update after launch.

The phone manufacturer has reportedly started rolling out the OxygenOS update for OnePus 8T devices around the world. The update appears to be minor, as it does not add new features but resolves user-reported issues, including optimizing system power consumption and decreasing heat generation.

Additionally, the update also addresses an issue that had been reported by some users where the icons on their phones were not displaying properly on the home screen which has been fixed. Apart from that, there are also some fixes to the Bluetooth and the Gallery app, as well as other fixes to the smart 5G feature to improve battery life.

Speaking of the phone, the OnePlus 8T comes with a 6.55-inch display with support for a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 402ppi. The 20: 9 aspect ratio display is also capable of running at a high refresh rate of 120Hz.

Under the hood, we have the trusty Snapdragon 865 SoC which has been paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. As for the software, the phone’s hardware has been paired with a clean copy of the Oxygen OS based on Android 11

The OnePlus 8T also comes with a four-camera setup with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor in the center. The lens has an aperture of F / 1.7. The lens also supports OIS and EIS. The phone also has a 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens with a 123-degree field of view. There is also a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens on the device.

Compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 8T carries a slightly larger 4500mAh battery that can be charged at nearly twice the speed of OnePlus 8 using a new charging standard that OnePlus calls Warp Charge 65.

OnePlus is currently selling the phone in two variants in the country. The entry variant of the device with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB is available for the price of Rs 42,999. High-end 12GB and 256GB RAM storage variants are available for purchase priced at Rs 45,999.
