Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G are the latest two phones to have made a comeback. The Nokia 6300 Classic and Nokia 8800 classic phones have been launched in updated avatars, which while retaining the most crucial design elements, but let go of the steel plates and metallic finish for other materials. The Nokia 6300 4G has a polycarbonate body while the Nokia 8000 4G uses a glass-like coating, making it the most premium feature phone launched by HMD Global.
The Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G both run on KaiOS software, which is the preferred platform for feature phones for the compatibility it offers. Thanks to KaiOS, the Nokia 6300 4G and the Nokia 8000 4G will be able to run WhatsApp, Facebook, Google, Gmail, YouTube and other apps that can be downloaded from the KaiStore. These mobile phones also support Google Assistant, which means they can be controlled using voice for certain functions, but they won’t be as comprehensive as the features available on Android smartphones.
Available in classic candy bar design, the Nokia 6300 4G offers 4G connectivity using a single SIM card slot. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 platform paired with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, support for 32GB microSD cards, and a 2.4-inch QVGA display. The handset is backed by a 1500mAh battery which is rated to provide a standby time of 27 days. There is a MicroUSB port for charging. The phone also has Wi-Fi hotspot support so you can share the 4G connection with other devices that support Wi-Fi.
There is a VGA camera on the back of the Nokia 6300 4G, which should be enough to click photos in the most basic quality. There is also an LED flash above the camera. The bottom of the phone has a speaker grille that likely houses a mono speaker. In the center of the back panel is the Nokia branding. The Nokia 6300 4G is available in Light Charcoal, White and Cyan Green colors.
Nokia 8000 4G has a glossy finish on the back that appears to have an NCVM coating. The T9 keyboard has curved edges that blend with the display and edge design. It also has a 2.4-inch display, a Snapdragon 210 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a 1500mAh battery. But its camera is a bit better with a 2MP sensor on the back. It is available in Onyx, Opal, Citrine and Topaz colors.
The Nokia 6300 4G costs 49 euros and the Nokia 8000 4G 79 euros. Both phones will be available in select markets, but we don’t have a release date yet.
