It has long been rumored that Nokia will bring the Nokia 9.3 PureView to market to finally take on flagships like the OnePlus 8 and Samsung Galaxy S20. And while rumors suggest that the launch of HMD Global’s next flagship will take place in November, we’re now getting what may be the first key detail for the Nokia 9.3 PureView’s successor, the Nokia 10 PureView. A new report has stated that the Nokia 10 PureView will be launched in the second half of the year and this is good news for Nokia fans.
A report from NokiaPowerUser has suggested that the Nokia 10 PureView will arrive after June or July next year. A specific timeline is not available because the company has not confirmed anything. The only thing supposedly to come from HMD Global was the mention of the Nokia 10 smartphone in an internal document that somehow leaked. But beyond what that document said, the latest report also claimed that the Nokia 10 PureView – which is an unofficial name for now – will run on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 875 processor.
It is a big deal for a Nokia phone to go hand in hand with its rivals who would also be busy launching their flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor-based flagship phones. The next-generation processor will apparently be much more powerful than the Snapdragon 865 processor of the ‘last year according to AnTuTu scores which leaked early. According to the benchmark scores for the Snapdragon 875 processor, shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav on Twitter, the upcoming Qualcomm processor will have higher performance than the Exynos 1080 and Kirin 9000 processors launched by Samsung and Huawei respectively.
Additionally, the report claims that the Nokia 10 PureView will have a stainless steel frame, a sapphire glass display, and a multi-camera setup powered by Zeiss optics. Nokia has been opting for Zeiss technology for the cameras of its flagship phones for a long time. The Nokia 9.3 PureView is also expected to have the same optical technology, however, reports have suggested that there will be an extra Penta-lens configuration.
HMD Global is preparing to finally give stiff competition to other players in the market, and Nokia 10 PureView could be a piece of its strategy. It has long stayed away from the flagship market – the Nokia 9.3 PureView will also arrive more than a year after first reaching rumors. Now that the Nokia 9.3 PureView may finally arrive this month, HMD Global’s next initiative to increase competition could be the Nokia 10 PureView.
