Nikon will announce its two new cameras on October 14th. The company officially confirmed the event by releasing a poster that reads “The Next Chapter – Z7 II and Z6 II” along with the launch countdown. The next online-only event will begin at 12pm EDT (9:30 pm IST).

Regarding the upcoming cameras, in July we reported that the imaging brand is preparing for new cameras, namely Nikon Z6 and Z7. But it is now confirmed that the new products will be called Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II.

According to the Nikon Rumors report, both the Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 will be incremental upgrades to existing Nikon Z6 and Z7 models respectively. The Z6 and Z7 cameras were launched in the year 2018.

Courtesy of Nikon Rumors, we know a few features that will be included in the Z6 II and Z7 II. Both cameras will contain the same sensors as the Z6 and Z7 models. In fact, Nikon Rumors claims the Nikon Z6 II will be “the last Nikon camera with a 24MP sensor”.

Other specifications of the Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II include: dual Expeed processors, dual memory card slots, EN-EL15c battery, USB power, 4K / 60p video capability, and the ability to use a suitable vertical grip with buttons / controls. Well, the dual memory card slots, one for CFexpress and one for SD, is definitely an added feature for camera users.

There’s still a week left until the launch of the Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II, so in the meantime we can definitely expect some camera leak images or more features to share on the internet.

Nikon will announce its two new cameras: Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II next week.
