LG's wireless car charging business is acquired by An Apple Supplier

The deal is reportedly worth A$154 million, and includes LG’s technology and human resources from its vehicle component solutions division. LG entered the space in 2017, and supplies ‘solutions’ to the likes of General Motors. BH produces the rigid flexible printed circuit boards used for high resolutions displays, supplying the parts to Samsung and Apple.

LG Electronics is in talks to buy a component supplier to Apple and Samsung’s in-car wireless smartphone charging business. In a regulatory statement, the company stated, “Discussions are underway to purchase the in-car wireless smartphone charging business as part of efforts to diversify business portfolio and strengthen competitiveness.”
