LG Wing with swivel displays, 5G launched in India to counter Galaxy Z Fold 2, Moto Razr

LG Wing is the latest futuristic smartphone that attempts to rock the Indian market with its fun and weird design. As the name suggests, the wing has two displays that rotate to form a “T” or wing. This mechanism where the two displays sit on top of each other looks promising for a device that doesn’t go beyond its form factor. It is not stretchable like foldable smartphones, nor does it fold to become compact like Moto Razr. What you have is a completely different concept of how two screens can work cohesively in the sea of bar phones.

LG wing price

LG Wing costs Rs 69,990 in India and goes on sale starting November 9 at major online and offline retailers. It is available in Aurora Gray and Illusion Sky colors.

LG wing specifications

LG Wing has two screens, one superimposed on the other. There’s a 6.8-inch large 1080p POLED primary screen (with Always-On Display and Gorilla Glass 5) and a 3.9-inch GOLED secondary display. These displays can be rotated to form a wing-like mechanism that has several use cases.

LG has listed a few and they seem interesting enough to buy this weird looking setup that Wing brings along. For example, when you open the camera app, the viewfinder is available on the larger display and the secondary display will show gimbal functions. Hold the secondary display in your hand while the primary display is on top. LG claims to have tested the pivot mechanism over 200,000 times to ensure the phone’s durability.

Powering the LG Wing is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. This also means you have 5G connectivity. It has an Adreno 620 GPU under the hood. The smartphone is IP54 splash resistant and has a water repellent coating on the top. This means you can swim with this phone. The phone has an aluminum frame all around, with a glass back protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The LG Wing is also MIL-STD-810G certified. There is a fingerprint sensor on the phone below the display.

For photography, the LG Wing has a three-camera setup on the back, including a 64MP F1.8 main sensor, a 13MP F1.9 ultrawide sensor with 117-degree field of view, and an ultrawide F2 sensor. 2 12MP with 120-degree field of view. This configuration is identical to that of the LG Velvet. For selfies, you have a 32MP camera docked on a motorized pop-up slider. This ensures a full screen view on the front. The LG Wing is backed by a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0+ and wireless charging.

LG Wing features two displays that can be rotated to form a T and has multiple uses for this arrangement.
