LG Wing launching in India today and here is everything to know about it

LG Wing will be launched today in India. The South Korean giant’s T-shaped smartphone will contrast Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Motorola Moto Razr due to the odd approach to how two screens should work. While most phones have large displays that can fold, the two screens on the Wing can rotate. LG is bringing the phone to India right before the Diwali season, which could help the company get good sales.

The LG Wing launch event starts today at 11.30am. It will be an online event, so you can catch real-time company updates Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels. During the event, the company will announce the price of the LG Wing and details on availability. We can expect some accessories to match. Our best bet is on the LG Free Tone wireless earbuds, but nothing is confirmed on this part.

For its specs, the LG Wing features a 6.8-inch 1080p POLED screen on top of the smaller 3.9-inch GOLED screen. Each of the screens can be rotated to form a T shape. Many apps have been redesigned to offer various solutions that respect that shape. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which brings 5G support to the phone. But considering LG has rolled out 4G variants for its Velvet, the LG Wing for India may have a different processor choice that will settle for 4G connectivity, due to the lack of 5G here.

In the optical department, LG Wing has a 64MP main camera, accompanied by a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP Gimbal motion camera. This gimbal setup proves useful, thanks to the operability of the wing. When opened in the shape of a “T”, the LG Wing’s main display will become the camera viewfinder while the secondary display, which lies below the main one, shows the gimbal controls. For selfies, a 32MP pop-up camera is available, meaning a full-screen view is available on the LG Wing.

LG is launching the T-shaped Wing dual screen phone in India today and it could shake up the market for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Motorola Moto Razr.
