LG is updating its Tone Free Wireless Earphones with Active Noise Canceling, but the new models retain the self-cleaning case which has germ-killing capabilities. Called LG Tone Free FN7, the TWS earbuds are now available for purchase in South Korea, while other markets will be added to the list later this year. The Tone Free FN7 is a significant upgrade over the FN6 because it offers noise canceling capabilities only at a slightly higher price.
The LG Tone Free FN7 costs KRW 21,900,000, which is around Rs 14,400. The earphones are available in black and white. At the moment, it’s unclear if these earbuds will arrive in India, but we can still expect it at tomorrow’s LG Wing event.
LG Tone Free FN7 comes with a charging case that uses proprietary UVnano technology to clean it. It is said to kill germs from the earbuds and the charging case. LG claims that this technology can kill 99.9% of germs (E. coli and S. aureus) that may be present on the silicone tips and internal mesh of the earbuds. The cleaning process begins when the charging case shows a blue light. Green light indicates charging. The FN6 earphones were the first to come with this technology.
Sound-wise, LG Tone Free FN7 uses Meridian Audio to improve the sound quality on these earbuds. Of course, these earbuds feature active noise cancellation aided by three microphones. “With the ANC activated, ambient noises are now almost completely neutralized, making every note and voice clearer, more natural, without losing detail by cranking the volume up,” LG said in a press release.
LG claims the earbuds can last around 5 hours with ANC on, but otherwise you get a battery life of around seven hours. The charging case increases the battery life and extends to approximately 15 hours.
Last year LG introduced UVnano-powered anti-germ technology with its FN6 wireless earbuds.
