    Leica Q2 Monochrom camera launched in India with black and white sensor

    Leica has just announced a new global camera called the Leica Q2 Monochrom. The Q2 Monochrom is the latest member of the company’s Q camera line. Previously, the company announced the Leica Q2 full-frame camera more than a year ago in March 2019.

    Similar to the Leica Q2, its Monochrom version features a fixed lens system but includes a black and white image sensor instead of a color one. The black and white functionality of the latest Leica Q2 Monochrom camera is similar to Leica M10 Monochrom. The Q2 Monochrom is a niche product in the camera market as it is capable of clicking only black and white photos.

    Leica Q2 Monochrom: Specifications and Features

    The Leica Q2 Monochrom boasts a 47.3 megapixel monochrome CMOS sensor, a 3-inch TFT touch display, an OLED viewfinder and a digital zoom function of up to 75 mm. The camera offers ISO sensitivities up to 100,000. For video capabilities, the Q2 Monochrom full frame camera can shoot 4K video at 30 or 24fps, fullHD video at 120 or 60 or 30 or 24fps.

    The fixed focal length lens of the Q2 Monochrom camera is a 28mm F1.7 lens consisting of 11 elements in 9 groups with 3 aspehrical elements. As Leica states, “the aperture of f / 1.7 ensures optimum image quality even in the most difficult lighting situations”.

    Using the Leica FOTOS app, the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi module allows users to share images via social media, change camera settings from a smartphone or even remotely control the shutter release of the Leica Q2Monochrom. The camera also includes a Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) function to instantly pair a camera with a smartphone.

    Leica Q2 Monochrom: price and availability

    In India, the Leica Q2 Monochrom camera model is priced at Rs 4,11,017. The Q2 camera in its black and white version is up for grabs starting November 20. Users can purchase Leica Q2 Monochrom from both the company’s online store and the retail store.

    Leica Q2 Monochrom is the newest member of the company’s Q camera line. The Q2 Monochrom only clicks on black and white photos and is priced at Rs 4,11,017 in India.
