Tech News: Leak suggests upcoming Google Pixel Watch to be the most stunning smartwatch ever.
The Google Pixel Watch could really be a round smartwatch with a crown if a new batch of leaked renderings are to be believed – and it could be out in October. The images are courtesy of renderer Ian Zelbo via leaker Jon Prosser – which includes enlarged versions of the cropped photo released yesterday by the latter. The big news then was that the Pixel Watch could have a physical crown, a typical feature of analog watches (and high-end digital ones like the Montblanc Summit 2).
But this new set of Pixel Watch renders (made from information and press images that a source relayed to Prosser) show much more of the smartwatch design, as does the Pixel Watch information detailed in the Prosser’s video:
Although Prosser didn’t have any specific information to share, the renders show our first real look at what the Pixel Watch might be and show a circular watch with a bezel-less display, no buttons, and a single physical crown on the right side (which is small. and cute, really, compared to the chunky crowns on other smartwatches like the Summit 2)
As Prosser notes, the renders show a very thin watch without the convex thickness of other round watches such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2. The renders also recreate the proposed interface, including a dial with radial time markers, making it look like an analog watch. . The apps look very simple: it simply says “Heart Rate” with a large number and a cute little heart, suggesting that Google might go for a sleeker minimalist design.
Prosser also notes that his information points to a Google Pixel Watch release date of October, although that’s not a certainty. It would be in line with the company’s usual release window for its flagship phones – the Pixel 5 came out on October 15, 2020, for example.
