Tech News: Latest TP-Link with WiFi 6 mesh system begins from $280.
TP-Link unveiled the Deco X68, a reasonably priced tri-band WiFi-6 mesh router system with several improvements over the Deco X60 WiFi 6 model. The biggest upgrade is a dedicated 5GHz band that works for “backhaul” “or the connection of Deco units to improve speed. The Deco X60 didn’t have this, so you had to wire each unit to get the best possible performance.
The Deco X68 can cover an area of 5,500 square meters with two units or 7,000 square meters with three and offers maximum transfer rates of 3,600 Mbps for up to 150 devices, the company says. (Note that you will never see these speeds in the real world on a router or mesh network.) These maximum speeds are lower than TP-Link’s Deco X90 and other systems. from Linksys, ASUS, and others, but the Deco X68 is cheaper and speeds are even faster than most mesh networks.
Other features include easy setup and management, along with Alexa voice support, HomeShield security, and AI-based mesh technology that supposedly fits into your unique home environment. The Deco X68 starts at $ 280, presumably for a two-pack, and will hit TP-Link’s Amazon store soon.
