JCB India closes all operations for 10 days due to the coronavirus wave

Business News: JCB India shuts down all operations for 10 days due to coronavirus wave.

JCB India later in the evening on Friday announced a 10-day hiatus at all of its manufacturing facilities in India. The company has cited the growing number of Covid-19 cases for this temporary suspension.

Deepak Shetty, CEO and CEO of JCB India, said: “Due to the increased rate of infection around us, the health and safety of our colleagues and their families has become even more important. We have decided to suspend production operations for 10 days, starting May 1, 2021. This is a precautionary measure and applies to all of our production sites in Ballabgarh, Pune and Jaipur. “

The company said it has sufficient inventory levels to support demand for products during this lull. “We do not foresee any challenges in the availability of JCB products for our customers in India or for our export markets. All of our customer and dealer-facing functions will function normally, in accordance with local guidelines. There will be no disruption in product support for equipment used by our customers due to this hiatus, ”the company said in a statement.

JCB has a dealer network with over 700 outlets across India. “It is important to break the chain of infection. Most of our employees in our offices are already working from home and this temporary hiatus from manufacturing operations will further help reduce the active number of cases in and around our manufacturing facilities, ”Shetty said.

JCB India manufactures over 60 products in nine product categories, which are sold in India and exported to over 110 countries. The company has the largest design center outside of the UK in Pune, where it develops new technologies for the future.
